I don’t know about you but I have too many passwords to keep track of these days. I’ve used traditional password vaults up to now but, just recently, I’m finding a greater need to access these resources remotely. Whilst I can remote desktop to these resources securely it’s a real pain driving these from an iPhone screen. There had to be a better way ….

With the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro iPhone app life has become much simpler. Now all I need to do is initiate a secure SSL-VPN connection to our office to our Dell SonicWALL firewall using the Dell SonicWALL Mobile Connect client app over 3G or a trusted WiFi hotspot.

Then fire up the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro iPhone app. All communications is doubly encrypted via HTTPS within the SSL-VPN HTTPS encryption. My ManageEngine Password Manager Pro is linked to my internal Active Directory so I can use my normal network credentials to login to the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro app here.

Once that’s done the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro app will prompt me for a local pass phrase (this gets created when you first configure the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro app). The app uses this pass phrase to encrypt any locally cached password information.

The password information that is available via your ManageEngine Password Manager login account is then available to you. Simply access the require resource add swipe right to view the password detail, simple!

For even greater security you could also register your iPhone with the Mobile Device Management (MDM) options in ManageEngine’s Desktop and Mobile Device Management solutions Desktop Central. For more information on this solution please feel free to check out the details at the following link:
